Staff Data Scientist (ML)

Location: Utah, United States; hybrid with regular in-office days each week

What you will do

• Architect, build, and productionize machine learning models and advanced analytical systems.
• Own predictive and prescriptive models across their full lifecycle, including maintenance, monitoring, improvement, and retraining.
• Collaborate with BI Engineers, Data Engineers, Analysts, and operational stakeholders to embed ML capabilities into the data platform and business processes.
• Establish reusable methodologies, decision-making frameworks, and MLOps practices across Data Engineering, BI Engineering, and the Knowledge Layer architecture.
• Mentor data scientists, analysts, and engineers through design reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Evaluate emerging tools, including agentic and GenAI-powered analytics, and align technical direction with business priorities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, ML engineering, or advanced analytical modeling, with production experience solving business problems.
• Expertise designing and implementing complex ML and advanced analytical systems at scale, including full model lifecycle ownership.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, plus experience with modern ML frameworks and Lakehouse or cloud data platforms such as Databricks.
• Deep knowledge of MLOps practices, including experiment tracking, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and production optimization.
• Experience developing novel approaches for ambiguous problems, leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing without authority, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s or doctoral degree in a related quantitative field.
• Experience in the SaaS industry.
• Experience with agentic analytics, LLM-powered applications, or semantic and knowledge-layer architectures.
