Senior Director - System Architecture (AI SoC)

Location: On-site 5 days a week in NW Austin, Texas, United States. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture definition of ultra-low-power AI SoCs from initial concept through mass production.
• Develop high-level and microarchitecture specifications, including system flows, interfaces, pseudocode, and use cases.
• Drive power and performance modeling, analysis, and hardware/software partitioning decisions.
• Assess and integrate internal and external IP, interconnects, memory technologies, hardware accelerators, and power-management interfaces.
• Coordinate with marketing, hardware, software, FPGA, physical design, applications, and field teams to transition architectures into products.
• Support FPGA bring-up, RTL and gate-level debugging, post-silicon analysis, and customer alignment on product features.

Requirements

• 15+ years of microprocessor/microcontroller-based SoC or similar architecture and design experience for wearable, IoT, or mobile products.
• Demonstrated experience developing novel low-power architectures from concept and specification through design and post-silicon validation.
• Deep knowledge of embedded systems, SoC architecture, fabric/interconnect technologies, power management, and advanced process nodes.
• Experience creating architectural specifications for SoCs or similarly complex hardware devices.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required; MS or PhD strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with technical and team leadership experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with 2D/3D graphics accelerators, display controllers, video and image processing, or neural-network processors and accelerators.
• Experience with Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, GPS, and low-power modern mobile consumer electronics.
