TL;DR
Silicon Domain Architect (FPGA Security): Defining next-generation FPGA silicon architectures for Root of Trust, security technologies, FPGA configuration, and hardware/software integration with an accent on scalable, secure, high-performance, and power-efficient subsystems. Focus on translating system requirements into architectural specifications, evaluating design tradeoffs through modeling and simulation, and coordinating hardware, firmware, software, validation, and product engineering teams.

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Shift 1, United States of America.

Salary: $118,900–$178,000 USD annually for the Bay Area California market. Incentive opportunities are also available.

What you will do

  • Define and contribute to end-to-end architectures for silicon domain subsystems, including Root of Trust and FPGA configuration features.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and architectural specifications based on product requirements and hardware/software interoperability needs.
  • Define microarchitectural features, interfaces, design considerations, and implementation guidelines for future FPGA products.
  • Create test plans, validation strategies, and testing infrastructure requirements for new silicon architectures and features.
  • Build functional models, run simulations, analyze design tradeoffs, benchmark performance, and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with hardware design, firmware, software drivers, validation, and product engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in semiconductor architecture, silicon design, SoC architecture, FPGA architecture, hardware security, or related hardware engineering.
  • Experience translating system requirements into hardware architecture specifications, technical requirements, or design documentation.
  • Knowledge of secure boot, Root of Trust concepts, cryptographic foundations, trusted computing technologies, or security-focused silicon features.
  • Experience defining or analyzing hardware/software interfaces, firmware interactions, configuration requirements, or system integration considerations.
  • Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor architecture, SoC design, FPGA architecture, or silicon development.
  • Experience with Root of Trust implementations, secure lifecycle management, FPGA security features, secure provisioning, device authentication, or cryptographic acceleration.
  • Experience developing architectural models, simulation environments, benchmarking methodologies, or performance analysis techniques.
