Manufacturing Technician - Wafer Fabrication

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite cleanroom role with scheduled hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM; training requires 1st-shift work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for approximately 3–4 months. Applicants must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status under US export-control requirements.

Salary: $22.50–$35.00 per hour, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonuses.

What you will do

• Operate wafer fabrication equipment according to written procedures, process specifications, and safety guidelines.
• Perform semiconductor device production processes in a cleanroom environment.
• Record operational data in logs, forms, and digital systems.
• Diagnose process discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent defects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings, escalate complex issues, and improve process stability.
• Maintain quality, safety, productivity, and OSHA compliance standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of experience in wafer fabrication or a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality-control requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to meet US export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of diffusion, photolithography, and wet-etch processes.
• Experience safely handling and disposing of acids, solvents, and other hazardous chemicals.
