Senior Credit Officer - Mid Markets

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week or 40% of working time at an office in Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh or Manchester, UK

Salary: £85,493–£100,580 per year

What you will do

• Analyse, rate, structure, sanction and monitor credit risk across Mid Markets relationships with revenues of £50m–£500m.
• Exercise delegated credit authority and take accountability for decision quality, portfolio growth and credit performance.
• Provide credit expertise for portfolio, sector and product reviews and advise senior stakeholders on risk and growth opportunities.
• Own end-to-end credit process effectiveness, driving simplification, automation, smarter data use and improved decision-making.
• Lead change in trading-company business and cash flow-based lending capability.
• Coach, develop and retain credit colleagues while deputising for the Head of Credit when required.

Requirements

• Strong background in credit risk and financial analysis, ideally including cash flow-based lending.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience holding and exercising material delegated credit authority.
• Strong transaction structuring, communication, influencing and constructive challenge skills.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality decisions under time pressure.
• Ability to work in the required hybrid pattern at one of the listed UK office locations.
