Launch Technician, EGSE

Location: United States; launch-site work is required. ITAR eligibility requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Salary: $35.00–$44.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, modify, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair launch-site instrumentation and control systems.
• Construct launch SCADA systems using instrumentation and communication devices.
• Work with level transmitters, flow meters, pressure transducers, temperature sensors, strain gauges, accelerometers, and microphones.
• Use oscilloscopes, data analyzers, multimeters, recorders, computers, and software tools to test and calibrate equipment.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings; pull and terminate cables and solder electronic components.
• Perform launch-site checkouts for test and launch operations and support launch-day red-team activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of aerospace or industrial process instrumentation and controls experience.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical and electronic drawings and prints.
• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must meet applicable U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.
• Ability to perform work in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and IEEE requirements.

Nice to have

• AIAA or DoD Electronic Principles certification.
• Associate degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or a related field.
• Experience with fiber optics, SCADA, radio systems, bus architectures, and data communications.
• Experience updating schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings.
• Electrical experience with VFDs, motor starters, analog and relay logic, Megger, and ohmmeter testing.
