Innovation Lead - Office of the CTO (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; hybrid work. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country where the role is performed. Occasional travel and significant remote engagement with customers and partners are expected.

Base compensation: USD 220,000–230,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate emerging opportunities in ML/AI, edge computing, and adjacent technologies.
• Conceptualize, code, architect, test, and document proofs of concept that demonstrate customer value.
• Partner with data scientists, engineers, architects, product managers, and customers to move validated ideas toward production-ready features.
• Co-develop solutions with customers and partners, build reference accounts, and translate complex technology into executive-level narratives.
• Influence product roadmaps, participate in standards bodies and open-source communities, and contribute to technical demonstrations.
• Author and present thought leadership on AI-powered networking, edge intelligence, innovation frameworks, and breakthrough solutions.

Requirements

• Proven ownership of GenAI and multi-agent solutions from ideation through productization in a corporation or startup.
• Experience building engineering teams for GenAI and multi-agent solutions, plus complex AI and data-centric projects outside networking.
• Fluency in at least one programming language; Python, Java, or Go preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ML/AI principles, emerging architectures, enterprise applications, edge computing, distributed systems, and cloud networking.
• Knowledge of data structures, query optimization, analytics technologies, and third-party technology integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in networking, security, or cloud platforms.
• Participation in open-source projects or standards bodies.
• Product management or go-to-market strategy experience.
• Published thought leadership or industry conference speaking experience.
• Experience with MLOps, data platforms, or analytics systems.
