Senior Fab Quality Manager - InP Photonics

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day quality operations across InP wafer fabrication, including epitaxy and wafer processing.
• Act as Management Representative for ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 systems, coordinating documentation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Lead inline and final inspection strategies for laser and gain chip products, including LIV, spectral performance, and optical power characterization.
• Support new process development for DFB/DBR lasers, semiconductor optical amplifiers, and photonic integrated circuits.
• Drive quality improvement through data analysis, SPC monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage supplier quality for InP substrates, precursor gases, and outsourced processes while supporting DFM, DFT, and FMEA activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering, applied physics, materials science, optical engineering, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of quality, product, or process engineering experience in III-V semiconductor or photonics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of III-V device physics and InP photonic devices, including edge-emitting lasers, VCSELs, SOAs, and modulators.
• Deep understanding of MOCVD/MBE epitaxial growth, wafer fabrication, material quality assessment, defect management, etching, metallization, passivation, cleaving, and AR/HR coatings.
• Experience implementing and maintaining ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems in manufacturing.
• Effective written and verbal English communication is required.

Nice to have

• PhD or another advanced degree in an applicable engineering or science field.
• Experience with high-speed optical transceivers, datacenter interconnects, coherent optical communications, or optical testing.
• Statistical analysis experience with JMP, Minitab, Python, or R.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience, ISO Lead Auditor certification, or familiarity with Telcordia GR-468 and IEC standards.
• Understanding of AI infrastructure and 400G/800G/1.6T optical interconnect architectures.
