Information Systems Security Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Headquartered in north Austin, Texas; the role requires eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or the ability to obtain required authorizations.

What you will do

• Translate CNSSP-12 requirements into measurable engineering requirements and secure architectures for ground and space segments.
• Coordinate with system owners, space vehicle engineers, DevOps, and operations teams to embed security controls into the SDLC.
• Lead Risk Management Framework accreditation under NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 2 and drive systems toward Authority to Operate.
• Develop and maintain System Security Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones, Security Assessment Reports, status reports, and continuous monitoring metrics.
• Lead enterprise cybersecurity compliance for NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, SPD-5, CMMC, and DISA STIG requirements.
• Manage an information assurance team, support incident response and tabletop exercises, and oversee red-team and penetration-testing activities.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 10 years of experience in information assurance, cybersecurity compliance, or risk management within aerospace, federal, or DoD contracting environments.
• Expertise with NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 2, SPD-5, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and FISMA.
• Hands-on experience with DoD security tools such as eMASS, ACAS, HBSS, and SPRS.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for working with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience as an ISSM or Security Control Assessor for space-based systems.
• Knowledge of satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding encryption and security requirements.
• Experience implementing CMMC Level 2.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Experience with Jama, DOORS, or similar requirements-management platforms.
