Information System Security Engineer (Aerospace Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design and implement secure enterprise systems, networks, and applications.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and compliance activities against NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC, and applicable government regulations.
• Develop incident response plans, lead investigations, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Advise IT leadership and business stakeholders on security strategy, emerging threats, and technology investments.
• Maintain security policies, documentation, audit materials, and executive reports.
• Mentor security engineers and lead cross-functional security initiatives and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of information security engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks, encryption, identity management, and secure network design.
• Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor technical teams, and communicate with technical and executive audiences.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• CISSP, CISM, or CCSP certification.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or zero-trust architecture.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
