Senior Engineer II-Contract Manufacturing Operations (Electronics)

Location: Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States; home base must be at a primary contract manufacturer, with domestic travel to supplier and contract manufacturing sites as needed.

Annual base salary: $70,304-$205,000.

What you will do

• Own operational performance across contract manufacturing partners, including production plans, cycle times, yields, capacity, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Act as the senior technical and operations interface for escalations, root-cause investigations, containment, and 8D/CAPA corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead PCBA manufacturing process engineering for SMT, thru-hole, and system/box-build production, including process controls, work instructions, test strategy alignment, and standardization.
• Analyze yield, scrap, rework, throughput, on-time delivery, downtime, and other KPIs to implement data-driven improvements.
• Drive productivity, cost, line-balancing, takt, capacity, waste-reduction, EOQ, JIT, and Kanban initiatives and validate savings.
• Plan NPI and production scale-up, facilitate QBRs, develop dashboards and risk action plans, and coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Supplier Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with a strong technical background.
• 7.5-10 years of experience in high-technology manufacturing, including significant contract manufacturing operations and electronics production experience.
• Deep knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, including SMT and thru-hole, system integration/box build, and manufacturing process engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies, including DOE, SPC, FMEA, Gage R&R, data correlation and analysis, Kanban/JIT, waste reduction, and EOQ.
• Strong capability with ERP and manufacturing systems, analytics, and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across organizations, with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically to supplier and contract manufacturing sites as needed.
• U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status is required to access technology, materials, software, or hardware controlled by U.S. export laws.
• The home base must be at a primary contract manufacturer to support the business unit.

• Working knowledge of test engineering, component engineering, planning, and supplier quality practices.
