Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Manage corrective and preventive actions, lead CARs using 8D and structured root cause analysis, facilitate weekly reviews, and verify corrective-action effectiveness.
• Maintain and improve quality processes and approximately 20 operating procedures for assembly, facilities, EHS, and process development.
• Own the RTR process and serve as subject-matter expert and equipment engineer for the Vitrox reel-to-reel inspection tool.
• Administer site quality Smartsheet sheets, trackers, dashboards, automations, and access; build scripts and integrations to reduce manual tracking.
• Create quality KPIs and publish weekly metrics using Tableau or similar dashboards; evaluate AI and automation tools for site support.
• Verify outgoing shipments, review OQC scans and documentation, support MRB and RMA activities, prepare Full Material Declarations, maintain ISO 9001, support IATF 16949 transition, and participate in audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least two years of experience in manufacturing, product development, or quality engineering; semiconductor or electronics experience is preferred.
• Advanced Smartsheet proficiency or similar, including formulas, cross-sheet references, dashboards, automations, and site-wide workflow administration.
• Expertise in 8D and root cause analysis, including 5-Why, fishbone, and fault tree methods.
• Working knowledge of SPC, Cpk, and AIAG Core Tools: PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, and APQP.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or an equivalent QMS, including authoring and controlling procedures and work instructions in a PLM or document control system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, including leading meetings and delivering training, with collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience writing Python, SQL, or JavaScript scripts for workflow automation and data reporting, including Smartsheet automation or API integrations.
• Experience building Tableau or similar business intelligence dashboards.
• Hands-on experience with flip chip, wafer-level CSP, or other advanced packaging technologies.
• Five or more years of quality or manufacturing systems engineering experience in semiconductor backend assembly.
• Experience with Agile PLM, MES, and/or SAP.
• Experience training and certifying technicians or operators.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, CQE, CQA, or ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO 13485.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
