What you will do

• Lead joint development projects with imec and external partners focused on advanced filtration and microenvironment contamination control.
• Design, plan, and conduct experiments supporting new product development and generate performance data.
• Use imec infrastructure and technical capabilities to evaluate and validate emerging semiconductor solutions.
• Coordinate with the CTO organization, business units, product management, and global R&D teams.
• Present technical findings in internal reviews, customer and partner engagements, and scientific publications.
• Build research partnerships and monitor semiconductor technology trends to identify innovation opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Relevant experience in R&D, semiconductor technology, or advanced materials environments.
• Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, chemical manufacturing, wet etch technologies, lithography, and related materials.
• Understanding of integrated circuit manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, and industry trends is desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Leuven and meet requirements for international assignments; comfortable working in cleanrooms and following gowning procedures.
