Cloud Architect (AWS): Designing and evolving the cloud architecture of the NEURAGym Physical AI training platform, from robot interaction data ingestion through processing pipelines to model training and deployment, with an accent on serverless AWS services, domain-driven design, and event-driven systems. Focus on setting architectural standards, building scalable infrastructure and service boundaries, and providing technical leadership to software engineers, ML engineers, and robotics teams.
Location: On-site in Metzingen / Riederich, Germany

develops robotics products and the NEURAGym Physical AI training platform, which converts real-world robot interactions into trained AI models.
What you will do
- Own the end-to-end cloud architecture of the NEURAGym platform, from edge data ingestion through processing pipelines to model training and deployment.
- Design and evolve domain-driven, self-contained services on AWS, emphasizing serverless and managed services.
- Lead architecture decisions covering APIs, event-driven data flows, storage strategies, and cross-service consistency.
- Set standards for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, observability, and security.
- Translate product and AI research requirements into implementable designs with product managers, ML engineers, and robotics teams.
- Mentor Software Engineers, manage technical debt, and act as the technical anchor for the Physical AI Platform Engineering group.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and operating modern cloud systems, including at least 3 years as a cloud architect or principal engineer.
- Deep AWS expertise with hands-on experience in serverless and managed services.
- Experience with domain-driven design, self-contained systems, and service-oriented architecture.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture, data pipeline design, and asynchronous processing at scale.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code; AWS CDK is preferred, and Terraform is valued.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript and Python, plus strong English communication skills for presenting architectural decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience designing data platforms or ML infrastructure.
- Familiarity with MLOps toolchains.
- German language skills.
