Process Safety & Machine Safety Lead

What you will do

• Own the site Process Safety Management program, including structure, coordination, accountability, documentation, metrics, and continuous improvement.
• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses, Dust Hazard Analyses, and facility siting reviews.
• Drive Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Review processes, including tracking and closing recommendations.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for PSM audits, second-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Own the site's Machine Safety program, coordinating risk assessments, safeguarding design, corrective actions, and safe machine modifications.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and EHS on investigations, learning reviews, compliance, and risk reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, Health, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong technical expertise in PHA, MOC, PSSR, Process Safety regulatory requirements, and management systems.
• Experience facilitating PHAs, DHAs, facility siting reviews, and PSM audits.
• Qualified or willing to become qualified as a Layer of Protection Analysis practitioner.
• Ability to lead through technical credibility, influence, coordination, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive, technically rigorous programs; the role requires onsite dedication to the Newark CMPT location.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in chemical processing or refinery environments.
• Technical ownership of Machine Safety programs, including risk assessments, safeguarding, and compliance.
