Senior Software Engineer (JVM, Kotlin)

What you will do

• Design and build backend services for a highly scalable marketing platform.
• Own the design of APIs, applications, and supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Deliver solutions end-to-end, including automation, deployment, operations, and support.
• Document technical designs and requirements for internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions within an Agile delivery model.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, clients, and delivery teams on cross-system solutions.

Requirements

• Strong JVM-based development experience, preferably with Kotlin; Java is also welcome.
• Experience designing data-driven APIs and large-scale web services.
• Solid SQL skills, including schema design and performance-aware queries.
• Deep experience with automated unit and integration testing; TDD or BDD experience is preferred.
• Frontend and full-stack exposure with React, TypeScript, Redux, Tailwind, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, infrastructure as code, and containerised deployments using Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, or equivalent tools.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Scala or functional programming concepts.
• Experience with asynchronous and highly concurrent backend frameworks such as Ktor, http4k, Play, or RxJava.
• NoSQL experience with technologies such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, BigTable, or Cosmos DB.
• Strong Git workflow experience and willingness to adopt new technologies quickly.
