Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Hybrid and flexible, permanently based in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia

What you will do

• Design and develop robust, scalable solutions for B2B and D2C commerce platforms.
• Build clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, architecture planning, and technical standards development.
• Troubleshoot production and development issues, improve performance, reduce technical debt, and maintain observability.
• Own assigned work from conception through production, including post-deployment monitoring and on-call support.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience with demonstrable expertise in at least one programming language.
• Strong full-stack skills across front-end, back-end, and data-driven systems.
• Experience with scalable cloud applications and services, AWS or GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies.
• Hands-on experience with JVM languages such as Scala, Kotlin, or Java; React with TypeScript and CSS; APIs; databases; Docker; and microservices.
• Experience with testing, incident triage, on-call support, debugging, security practices, performance optimization, and observability tools.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance technical quality with business value.
