Associate Director, Fund Accounting (Private Markets)

Location: Hybrid in Mississauga or Toronto, Canada. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Salary: CAD 75,000–124,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage multiple client engagements and supervise client service teams to ensure timely delivery of client work.
• Manage direct-report performance, provide feedback, and support career development and training.
• Review transaction documentation, work papers, general ledger activity, financial statements, capital activity, investment activity, accruals, and valuation adjustments.
• Review management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital account statements, capital calls, distributions, cash sources and uses, and investor notices.
• Update and review distribution waterfall and carried-interest models according to fund terms.
• Coordinate with the vice president and team members while supporting departmental and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds.
• Significant mutual fund or investment accounting experience, including knowledge of US and international investment characteristics.
• Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers, and financial statements.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multitasking abilities.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada at the specified location is required.
