Fund Accountant - Multi Asset Class / Credit

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid/onsite with office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform daily accounting and reconciliations for multi-asset class and private credit portfolios.
• Process investment activity across public and private equities, public and private debt, swaps, options, and forwards.
• Review monthly and quarterly valuations for Level I, II, and III securities.
• Prepare internal and external reporting, including investment performance, exposure reporting, marketing materials, and corporate deliverables.
• Oversee third-party administrators, including capital activity notices, management and performance fees, net asset values, and capital statements.
• Coordinate compliance filings and financial statements, support investment sponsors and internal teams, manage outsourced operations providers, and lead process improvement projects.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance with strong academic credentials and relevant investment or financial markets coursework or internship experience.
• 2–5 years of experience at a financial services or top-tier accounting firm.
• Experience with general ledger or portfolio software, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of partnership accounting, financial reporting, auditing, and tax.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, judgment, flexibility, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative, self-motivated, proactive, and independent working style.

Nice to have

• CPA qualification.
• Accounting experience with private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or similar alternative products.
• Experience with Advent Geneva or comparable portfolio software.
