Staff Cloud Software Engineer, Backend

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect and lead the development of scalable, reliable backend services using cloud-native technologies.
• Design systems that process large volumes of data and transactions for network devices.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement cloud security strategies to protect data and application integrity.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment frameworks.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and collaborate with frontend and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cloud backend software development experience and leadership of substantial projects.
• Expertise in Java, SpringBoot, JVM, multithreading, and performance optimization.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, OCI, MongoDB, SQL databases, distributed systems, and message queues.
• Advanced knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and modern backend technologies.
• Experience applying cloud security best practices.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps, serverless architectures, SDN Software Controller Platforms, AI Ops, and automation tools.
