Senior Applications Engineer II – Physical Layer (SPE)

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate new Single Pair Ethernet concepts through simulation, prototyping, and validation.
• Collaborate with design teams to turn concepts into robust and scalable solutions.
• Support validation, compliance, and certification processes against customer and industry requirements.
• Create, review, and maintain technical documentation and application notes.
• Provide technical customer support and communicate design recommendations.
• Perform signal integrity and EMC analysis, testing, debugging, and cross-functional technical communication using internal and external laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field such as Mechatronics or Physics, plus 8+ years of relevant experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with Ethernet and SPE technologies, including 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1.
• Experience with Ethernet compliance and certification processes.
• Strong background in analog and digital circuit design, system- and circuit-level simulation, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, logic analyzers, and VNAs.
• Experience with signal integrity and EMC testing and debugging.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including reading and authoring.
• Programming or scripting skills in Python, C, C++, C#, Java, or uPython.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
• Fluent business-level English.

• Experience in the automotive or semiconductor industry.
• Familiarity with AI-supported workflows.
• RF design and debugging experience.
• PCB design experience with Altium.
• Firmware development experience.
• Soldering skills.
• German language skills.
