What you will do
- Design products from sensor physics through optical, mechanical, and application-firmware integration.
- Develop interdisciplinary sensor systems, including optical Time-of-Flight/LiDAR systems, spectrometers, and detector technologies.
- Model active and passive optical properties and define suitable signal-processing algorithms.
- Define system specifications from customer requirements and develop system concepts connecting architectures with ASIC and software functionality.
- Plan and execute validation, qualification, electrical and optical characterization, and scalable testing infrastructure in the laboratory.
- Coordinate project work packages, schedules, budgets, production processes, documentation, supplier collaboration, and patent contributions.
Requirements
- Masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Information Technology, with a focus on optical semiconductors, sensors, or optical transceivers.
- 5+ years of experience in optoelectronic industrial R&D.
- Strong background in optical semiconductor design, sensor physics, processing, production, optical design, measurement, and test setup integration.
- Experience with sensor system design, software algorithm definition, embedded systems or IC design and testing, and structured project management methodologies.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with prototyping and electrical and optical characterization.
- English communication skills are required; willingness to learn German and develop German communication skills is expected.
