Senior Cloud Ops Engineer (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: Munich; hybrid options with remote work within the EU

What you will do

• Operate Azure and T Cloud Public services, including managed services and self-hosted workloads.
• Run Kafka, Keycloak, Redis, and PostgreSQL on Kubernetes and virtual machines, including availability, patching, upgrades, and backup and restore.
• Build Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle operations with IaC and GitOps.
• Deploy and operate AI services such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI endpoints, and vector stores.
• Investigate production incidents, define SLIs/SLOs, and improve monitoring, automation, and documentation.
• Apply security controls including TLS/mTLS, RBAC, secrets management, and least-privilege access while managing cloud costs.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience operating production cloud environments, ideally in SaaS.
• Strong experience with Azure services, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and stateful workloads.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines as code, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps workflows.
• Good scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and experience with several of Kafka, Keycloak, Redis, PostgreSQL, or Velero.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and solid knowledge of networking and security basics.
• Fluent English required; German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Python and Django experience for internal tooling and automation.
• Experience with model serving, vector databases, AI observability, or managed Azure counterparts.
• Keycloak identity experience with OIDC, SAML, or SSO.
• Experience with sovereign cloud environments or Azure and Kubernetes certifications.
