What you will do

• Lead complex development of active and passive silicon photonic device components.
• Simulate, design, fabricate, and coordinate testing of new silicon photonic devices.
• Plan, coordinate, and document photonic device qualification across integration, reliability, modeling, and test teams.
• Identify technical challenges, design experiments, and analyze root causes to improve processes.
• Support customers in evaluating new solutions and debugging technology-versus-design challenges.
• Travel to other hirify.global facilities as needed, generally less than 10%.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Material Science, Photonics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in advanced photonic device design, integration, testing, or advanced packaging: 11+ years with a BS, 8+ years with an MS, or 7+ years with a PhD.
• Experience with silicon photonic device simulation, design, and testing.
• Strong communication, coordination, collaboration, planning, and organizational skills.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.

Nice to have

• Silicon photonic modulator design experience using BTO or TFLN.
• Silicon photonic design experience using a GF PDK.
• Silicon photonic simulation experience.
• Project management experience, including navigating ambiguity and tracking projects through completion.
