Patient Access Specialist Per Diem (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Valley - Hampshire Hospital in Romney, West Virginia, United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting and pre-registration activities, including assigning medical record numbers and collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, process physician orders, and provide patients with instructions and required documents.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select accurate insurance plan codes, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other forms; obtain required signatures and document distributions.
• Conduct account audits, correct registration data, and provide statistical reports to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the hospital telephone switchboard and deliver compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at Valley - Hampshire Hospital in Romney, WV is required.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
