Assistant Chief Pilot (Aerial Survey) (Flight Operations): Leading training, standardization, safety oversight, and daily manned aerial survey flight operations with an accent on pilot qualification, operational risk assessment, and aircraft readiness. Location: Remote US, United States; must be able to work within the Eastern time zone. Travel is required up to 40% annually.
Salary: $65,000–$80,000 base salary per year, plus 10% bonus potential.

What you will do
- Support the Chief Pilot in leading manned aerial survey flight operations and provide operational guidance to line pilots.
- Conduct and supervise ground and flight training, performance evaluations, proficiency checks, and pilot development.
- Develop and manage the structured IOE program, training standards, SOPs, manuals, and safety procedures.
- Support daily go/no-go decisions, mission planning, risk assessment, route and airport suitability, and real-time operational problem solving.
- Coordinate with Maintenance on aircraft availability, discrepancy reporting, functional check flights, and return-to-service activities.
- Audit compliance, analyze operational metrics, and implement corrective actions to improve safety, standardization, capture success, and mission efficiency.
Requirements
- Current CPL, CFI, and MEI rating.
- Current Class 1 or 2 Medical, valid passport, and valid driver’s license.
- At least 650 total flight hours, 350 PIC hours, 30 multi-engine hours, 300 hours dual given, and 200 cross-country hours.
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit and familiarity with Part 91 operating guidelines.
- English proficiency and availability to work within the Eastern time zone.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check; ability to travel and meet the listed physical requirements.
Nice to have
- Aerial survey or aerial imaging experience.
- Previous aviation management or Chief/Assistant Chief Pilot experience.
- CFII, aviation leadership experience, and CFI/MEI teaching experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Concur, SmartSheet, Teams, and SharePoint.
- College degree or equivalent experience and prior remote-work experience.
