Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; onsite

Salary: CAD 76,800–102,400 per year

Develops high-performance CMOS and CCD image sensors and modular expandable cameras for machine vision, document scanning, surveillance, process monitoring, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and multimedia.

What you will do

• Design electrical circuits for machine vision camera test boards and camera boards.
• Define PCB stackups and layout plans, and collaborate with the PCB Layout team on implementation.
• Optimize board designs for cost, manufacturability, testability, and system-level imaging performance.
• Run circuit simulations, debug and bring up new board designs, and troubleshoot existing designs in laboratories and on the production floor.
• Write design review documentation, lead review meetings, and present electronics designs to technical designers and managers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, FPGA, mechanical, thermal, test, production, and customer teams; rework PCBs and support on-time product delivery.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree, or a PhD without experience.
• Electrical circuit design using circuit building blocks such as ADC, DAC, SMPS, LDO, op-amps, clock generators, buffers, FPGA, microcontrollers, and fiber optic transceivers.
• Schematic entry using software such as Siemens PADS.
• Experience using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Knowledge of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and Ethernet.
• Experience with multi-Gigabit signal circuit design on PCBs.
• Experience with board and cable interconnect solutions.
