Staff RF Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and implement RF software communications requirements for individual space missions.
• Design RF software architectures and bring up flight RF systems.
• Develop algorithms for RF digital signal processing, calibration, and system control.
• Optimize RF control algorithms to improve system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with ground software teams on satellite-to-ground data pipelines and testing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing software for wireless systems in critical applications.
• 8+ years writing embedded C/C++ code.
• Experience working with RF lab equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and software-defined radios.
• Proficiency testing and troubleshooting complex mixed-signal boards and RF components such as PAs, PLLs, LNAs, and mixers.
• Strong understanding of RF signal modulation and demodulation blocks.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Xilinx UltraScale+ board bring-up and development experience.
• Baseband software experience with PSK, GFSK, or APSK systems.
• Experience with DVB-S2, CCSDS, GNU Radio, or space-environment software and firmware.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
