Sr Embedded Software Engineer (High-Performance Signal Processing)

Location: 100% on-site at the headquarters in Huntington Beach, California, United States

Salary: $165,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Develop high-performance, production-grade embedded software in C/C++ for low-power MCUs and multi-core processors.
• Build and maintain real-time radar and RF signal-processing pipelines for counter-UAV systems and RF seekers.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on component selection, board bring-up, peripherals, drivers, and hardware-software trade-offs.
• Design functional, laboratory, and performance tests to validate embedded software and radar accuracy.
• Own software reliability, debugging, issue tracking, performance optimization, and frequent releases.
• Document software specifications, architecture, testing procedures, risks, and engineering trade-offs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience for radar, RF sensing, signal processing, wireless, or aerospace products.
• Strong C/C++ skills and experience with RTOS or bare-metal systems in memory-constrained environments.
• Experience reading schematics, bringing up boards and processors, and developing peripherals, drivers, and embedded code from scratch.
• Deep understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Huntington Beach, California, and authorization to work in the United States without export-license sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-core or multi-processor architectures and high-performance real-time optimization.
• Background in radar, wireless, DSP, RF, or aerospace theory and products.
• Experience with makefiles, memory maps, processor configurations, external libraries, and Python automation.
• Experience using laboratory test equipment for radar and RF sensing systems.
• Knowledge of DO-178C, MISRA C, ASIL, or other military, aerospace, or safety-critical standards.
