Senior Specialist, Patient Access (Healthcare)

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting and pre-registration activities, including demographic and insurance information collection.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, review eligibility and benefits, process physician orders, and support clean claims.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice screening for Medicare patients.
• Collect point-of-service payments, explain payment options and consent forms, and provide patient instructions.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, prepare statistical reports, and support quality standards.
• Develop training materials, schedule department staff, and provide on-call and after-hours guidance.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant job experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes, authorizations, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, and medical terminology or procedure codes.
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
