Process Development Technician (Biologics)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Salary: 20.37–35.65 CAD per hour, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

hirify.global, through BIOVECTRA, develops and manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and advanced biopharmaceutical products for clinical-to-commercial production.

What you will do

• Operate manual, electronic, pneumatic, and computerized fermentation and purification equipment in process development laboratories.
• Assist scientists with hands-on process development experiments in non-GMP and GMP environments.
• Collect, label, and test experimental samples while monitoring runs and supporting troubleshooting.
• Maintain reagent and instrument labeling, laboratory organization, equipment cleaning, calibration, and maintenance.
• Assist with cell bank preparation, testing, and maintenance, including cleaning of the GMP cell banking laboratory.
• Support pilot plant operations and manufacturing activities when required.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
• Ability to use a respirator.
• Ability to follow work instructions and standard operating procedures and complete accurate data entry.
• Written and oral communication skills and effective teamwork.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Aseptic handling, sampling, and materials analysis experience.
• Experience with biochemical assays and purification procedures.
• Industry experience in fermentation and protein purification.
• Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and techniques.
