Cloud Engineer (AWS/Azure)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; site-based role requiring at least 3 days per week in a hirify.global office or work location. US citizenship required.

Salary: $121,000–$191,000 annually; $150,000–$225,000 annually for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Build reusable Terraform modules, Ansible roles, GitHub Actions workflows, infrastructure code, and internal tooling.
• Automate high-effort operational work and measure time savings and ticket reduction.
• Maintain cloud reference architectures and guardrails for networking, identity, and security across AWS and Azure.
• Integrate secrets management and security scanning into CI/CD and align Kubernetes delivery with GitOps practices.
• Use and refine AI-assisted development workflows with tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
• Prototype emerging tools and approaches, document findings, and collaborate across technical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4–5+ years building cloud platform capabilities in AWS or Azure.
• Strong Terraform skills and experience with at least one CI system.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Go, with experience in version control, code review, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm or Kustomize, GitOps, secrets management, cloud networking, PKI, DNS, Linux, and scripting.
• US citizenship and the ability to work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vault, production GitOps using Argo CD, policy as code, GitHub Advanced Security, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience guiding Kubernetes migrations and delivering proofs of concept adopted in production.
• Experience introducing tools through formal approval and compliance processes.
