Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Bellevue, Washington, or remote from Florida, United States

Salary: $215,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure with Terraform, optimizing reliability, security, and cost.
• Own and evolve EKS/GKE Kubernetes and GitOps platforms using Helm, ArgoCD, Envoy, and Gloo.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, backend golden templates, and shared libraries for engineering teams.
• Lead observability, data-store, Kubernetes, and multi-account migrations with rollback strategies.
• Manage Datadog observability, on-call operations, CVE remediation, secrets, access controls, and cloud-cost optimization.
• Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, establish technical standards, and enable AI/ML developer tooling.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience and ideally GCP, including EKS/GKE, Lambda, networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, OpenSearch, and Route53.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipelines in monorepo or multi-service environments.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, production support, on-call operations, and debugging distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, Python, or Go, plus scripting and SQL; strong communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare, Envoy/Gloo, zero-trust networking, or edge networking.
• Experience operating Kinesis, Flink, Redis/Valkey, Confluent, or Kafka.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, LLM-based developer workflows, or other AI/ML infrastructure.
• Experience with security, compliance, change management, incident management, or AWS–GCP integrations.
