Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid in Long Beach, CA, or Denver, CO; at least 3 days per week onsite, with additional onsite work as business needs require.

Base salary: $120,000–$170,000 in Denver or $125,000–$180,000 in Long Beach, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate foundational multi-cloud infrastructure across the enterprise.
• Develop shared account structures, security guardrails, networking, and identity foundations for AWS and Azure environments.
• Build self-service tooling and paved-road patterns for provisioning, deployment, and system operations.
• Author reusable Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules and maintain CI/CD, testing, and deployment standards.
• Evaluate cloud services and infrastructure platforms while contributing to build-versus-buy decisions.
• Partner with engineering, security, and IT teams on government security and compliance requirements, while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Production experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code, modern CI/CD, continuous testing, and deployment practices.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, ports, DNS, firewalls, security groups, cloud networking, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to own systems end to end, work autonomously, communicate across teams, and mentor junior engineers.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with containers, orchestration, service mesh, registries, observability, reliability engineering, IAM, and secrets management.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, IL4, or IL5.
• Infrastructure experience in government, defense, regulated, or high-growth enterprise environments.
• Experience improving developer experience and building internal platform tooling.
• Active U.S. Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
