Spacecraft Integration Engineer (Aerospace): Building and integrating spacecraft from vehicle assembly through system checkouts and launch vehicle integration with an accent on system-level testing, multidisciplinary coordination, and delivery scheduling. Focus on solving integration issues across propulsion, avionics, structures, software, test, and manufacturing while operating pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic test stands.

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $105,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

  • Own spacecraft builds from assembly through system checkouts and integration with the launch vehicle.
  • Execute system-level testing and coordinate integration and activation with subsystem owners and technician teams.
  • Build and manage multidisciplinary schedules to deliver spacecraft on time.
  • Identify, track, communicate, and resolve build issues across propulsion, avionics, structures, software, test, and manufacturing.
  • Provide autonomous, practical solutions and feedback to design teams to improve spacecraft processing throughout the lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, materials, or another engineering discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience integrating, designing, or building aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience with pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic functional test stands and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with complex fluid or mechanical systems and hazardous processing equipment.
  • Must satisfy U.S. Government ITAR requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of relevant integration, design, or build experience.
  • Experience with Siemens NX, SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience creating and updating piping and instrumentation schematics.
  • Experience with SQL, database systems, or industrial control systems such as PLCs.
  • Hands-on experience with welding, automotive systems, pumps, valves, or rocketry.
