What you will do

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Apollo humanoid robot and address design and manufacturing bottlenecks.
  • Perform root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to integrate system improvements.
  • Optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design, prototype, and test components and subsystems using hands-on lab equipment.
  • Establish best practices for mechanical assembly, testing, quality control, and design-change documentation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on design for manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Expertise in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA and FEA simulation.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, CNC machining, 3D printing, and injection molding.
  • Experience with complex electromechanical systems, preferably in robotics, aerospace, or a similar field.
  • Strong problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with humanoid robotics or legged locomotion.
