Senior Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components, subsystems, and assemblies for Apollo humanoid robots.
• Own designs from concept development and prototyping through production release and sustaining.
• Perform design trade studies, mechanical analysis, and technical risk-reduction activities.
• Apply DFMA principles, support manufacturing readiness and production ramp, and collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Plan and execute verification and validation testing, investigate failures, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create drawings and specifications, participate in design reviews, and support engineering change management and design traceability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a related mechanical engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to independently own and deliver mechanical subsystems or features.
• Experience with DFMA, manufacturing processes, production support, FEA, analytical calculations, prototyping, and verification and validation testing.
• Knowledge of materials selection, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and integration with electronics, software, and motion systems.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, automation, or test equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory, safety, and compliance considerations.
