Site Director, Propulsion Test Facility (Aerospace)

Location: On-site at the Mojave Test facility at Mojave Air & Space Port, United States

Salary: $220,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential stock options and a Mojave differential

What you will do

• Lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Propulsion Test Facility.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineers, technicians, and test operators while building a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Manage test execution, hazardous operations, infrastructure, maintenance, staffing, schedules, and operational readiness.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, and Program Management to support development, qualification, and production programs.
• Oversee capital improvements, equipment upgrades, infrastructure planning, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Make critical operational decisions and lead responses during off-nominal and emergency situations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or a related engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in development or production test engineering.
• Experience building and developing high-performing engineering teams and leading multidisciplinary technical organizations.
• Understanding of fluid systems, instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex test operations safely and effectively.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license, due to ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or management.
• 12+ years of experience in rocket, propulsion, or aerospace test engineering.
• Experience directing hot-fire tests for liquid rocket propulsion systems.
• Knowledge of methane/liquid oxygen or other cryogenic propulsion systems.
• Experience with test automation, data systems, safety management, or as a Site Director/Lead.
