VP of Software Engineering (AU)

hirify.global develops AI-enabled counter-drone technology for military organizations, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure operators, and law enforcement.

What you will do

• Lead application software engineering projects against the technology roadmap.
• Oversee development of the hirify.global C2 platform, combining data from deployed sensors into meaningful user-facing information.
• Manage 38 engineers and support growth to more than 60 within 12 months.
• Lead ML/AI and software development teams while fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee scalable, high-performance solutions, project timelines, resource allocation, and engineering program delivery.
• Establish software development, testing, deployment, and Agile best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Track record of successful project delivery with demonstrable business outcomes.
• Experience in at least two of: web application development, Unix/Linux, distributed and parallel systems, large-scale software systems, or security software development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, including communication with executive leadership.
• Experience with Golang, Python, or JavaScript with React and previous defence or security experience are advantageous.
