TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer - Sensor FPGA and PCB (FPGA/PCB Robotics): Designing and validating the electronics and FPGA logic for Apollo’s sensor bridge with an accent on high-speed mixed-signal PCBA design, camera interfaces, and deterministic sensor synchronization. Focus on implementing VHDL/Verilog RTL, solving signal-integrity and timing-closure challenges, and debugging board-level and FPGA-level systems through manufacturing release.

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States

Annual salary: $170,000–$195,000

Company

hirify.global develops AI-powered humanoid robots, including Apollo, for manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, home, and other applications.

What you will do

  • Design and build assigned subsystems of Apollo’s multi-Gbps mixed-signal sensor bridge PCBA.
  • Own component selection, schematic capture, layout guidance, RTL implementation, documentation, validation, and manufacturing release.
  • Develop VHDL/Verilog RTL for CSI-2 ingest, Ethernet packetization, metadata insertion, camera synchronization, timing closure, and clock-domain crossing.
  • Design and validate high-speed interfaces including CSI-2, GMSL2/FPD-Link, 10GbE, transceivers, and external PHYs.
  • Bring up and debug hardware and FPGA subsystems using oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and custom test fixtures.
  • Coordinate with software, mechanical, thermal, systems, manufacturing, project management, vendors, and contract manufacturers while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience and a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with FPGA architecture, VHDL and/or Verilog RTL, FPGA tool flows such as Vivado, Quartus, or Lattice Radiant, and simulation tools such as ModelSim or Questa.
  • Experience designing high-speed interfaces, including CSI-2, GMSL/SerDes, Ethernet, PCIe, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, impedance-controlled routing, differential pairs, stack-up, timing analysis, power sequencing, EMC, ESD, and thermal constraints.
  • Experience with camera or image-sensor hardware, MIPI CSI-2, SerDes, ISP integration, Ethernet-based sensor streaming, and sensor bridges.
  • Hands-on prototyping, validation, lab debugging, technical communication, and willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States and internationally.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a fast-paced, high-growth robotics environment focused on bringing humanoid robots to production scale.
  • Collaborate across electrical, software, mechanical, thermal, systems, manufacturing, and program teams.
  • Direct-hire employment position.
  • Physical work includes prolonged desk and computer use and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
