Senior Backend Engineer (AI Security)

Location: U.S. Remote. Candidates must already have U.S. work authorization; future sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 base annually, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Build AI agent discovery on top of the existing cloud discovery platform, initially covering Microsoft Azure and later AWS and Google Cloud.
• Develop discovery capabilities for AI agents running on endpoints.
• Assess discovered agents’ configurations, access permissions, and security risks.
• Feed agent identities and context into the identity and attribution layer for governance.
• Collaborate with platform teams whose discovery services support the solution.

Requirements

• Typically 8 or more years of experience building production cloud or SaaS backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud provider APIs such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and asset discovery or inventory systems.
• Experience extending or integrating with an existing platform rather than working only on greenfield projects.
• Strong skills in a modern backend language such as C#, Go, Java, or Python.
• Ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems and select sound technical approaches with limited direction.
• Experience with endpoint agent or device management technologies, security posture management such as CSPM or CIEM, and AI agent authentication and operation.
