TL;DR
Senior AOCS Systems Engineer (Spacecraft Systems): Designing, simulating, testing, and delivering attitude and orbit control system solutions across satellite missions with an accent on subsystem architecture, sensor and actuator trade-offs, and hardware-in-the-loop validation. Focus on developing AOCS simulation environments, defining FDIR and CONOPS strategies, analysing test results, and introducing technologies for Earth observation, telecommunications, and demonstration missions.
Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; or Porto, Portugal. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do
- Lead the delivery of reliable, high-quality AOCS solutions across multiple satellite missions.
- Own AOCS subsystem architecture, including requirements, FMECA, FDIR strategies, and CONOPS support.
- Model, simulate, and analyse AOCS algorithms, sensor suites, actuator configurations, and system trade-offs.
- Develop simulation environments, analysis tools, and test equipment, and conduct laboratory, hardware-in-the-loop, and software validation activities.
- Interpret test results, resolve performance issues, and evolve the AOCS technology roadmap.
- Support bids and pre-sales activities while advising mission teams, operations, customers, suppliers, and partners.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing, analysing, and testing AOCS subsystems, including sensors, actuators, algorithms, or control software.
- Hands-on familiarity with high-end AOCS solutions for Earth observation or telecommunications missions.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and simulation model development.
- Understanding of hardware/software interfaces, electronics, or embedded systems relevant to AOCS.
- Experience with laboratory validation, test automation, iterative prototyping, FMECA, FDIR, and CONOPS development.
- Legal right to work in the selected UK, Greek, Spanish, or Portuguese location; application submitted in English.
