Lead Systems Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Location: Portsmouth, UK, with hybrid working and occasional UK travel, mainly to Stevenage.

What you will do

• Define system architectures for military satellite communications programmes, covering space, control, and ground segments.
• Capture and define requirements from stakeholder needs through subsystem level.
• Own requirements traceability and verification activities.
• Work with engineering leads and partners to define segment and subsystem architectures through integrated working groups.
• Provide systems engineering and project management input for planning, schedules, and costs.
• Communicate progress and problem resolution to stakeholders and contribute to technical proposals.

Requirements

• Must have or be able to obtain UK Eyes Only SC Security Clearance.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and appropriate tools.
• Working understanding of satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, and network control.
• Interest in satellite communications and in shaping technical approaches within projects.
• Ability to support colleagues and develop their technical knowledge.
