Full Time Profee/Facility Ophthalmology Medical Coder Remote

What you will do

• Code and abstract physician and facility ophthalmology medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and related coding systems.
• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures, select principal diagnoses and procedures, and assign appropriate DRGs.
• Enter coded charts in real time and consistently meet productivity and quality requirements.
• Query physicians about ambiguous or conflicting documentation according to client guidelines.
• Participate in coding education, roundtables, team meetings, training, and coder shadowing.
• Maintain current coding knowledge, credentials, and familiarity with official coding guidance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience coding both professional-fee and facility ophthalmology charts.
• Ability to code clinic E&M services, diagnoses, and CPT procedures.
• One of the following credentials: CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.
• Experience with Epic and 3M 360.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, reimbursement systems, and coding regulations.
• Must pass a coding proficiency test and work remotely from the USA.
