Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

What you will do

• Partner with Product Managers during discovery, requirements gathering, and end-to-end solution design within an agile SDLC.
• Architect and implement Node.js and TypeScript services for AWS Lambda, ECS, and containerized workloads.
• Build customer experience automation using Playwright and browser-based UI workflows.
• Design REST and event-driven APIs that integrate internal systems, higher-education platforms, and SaaS tools.
• Improve reliability, performance, observability, security, and automated test coverage across distributed services.
• Provide production support, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend services with Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript, including leading projects or initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB/RDS, S3, Step Functions, and IAM.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Experience with browser automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience delivering scalable APIs and microservices, event-driven integrations, message-based systems, and data transformation pipelines.
• Strong communication, documentation, architecture, operational runbook, and agile collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI automation tools such as Cursor, Codex, MPC servers, or agentic frameworks.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, serverless-first architectures, or event-sourcing patterns.
• Familiarity with React or Vue for full-stack collaboration.
• AWS security, compliance, or cost-optimization certifications or hands-on experience.
