Senior Software Engineer (Backend) (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of the B2B API, personalisation, and payments infrastructure.
• Collaborate with UX and product teams during discovery, ideation, and problem-solving.
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, engineering initiatives, and best-practice sharing.
• Develop deep knowledge of the business, customers, and payments domain while making autonomous decisions.
• Mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing through pairing, talks, and external speaking.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in financial services, payments infrastructure, or high-volume transaction systems such as betting, gaming, or streaming.
• Experience with a range of programming languages and willingness to work with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and AWS.
• Experience designing and provisioning cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; Kubernetes and containerised deployments are advantageous.
• Experience building and supporting publicly accessible REST APIs.
• Understanding of application development, continuous delivery, test automation, security, and distributed services, with a record of improving code quality, performance, stability, and scalability.
