Manufacturing Engineer (Defense Robotics)

What you will do

• Design and optimize manufacturing workflows, assembly methods, tooling, and automation for robotic system components.
• Use CAD/CAM, simulation tools, Minitab, and statistical process control to identify bottlenecks and improve cycle times and yield.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams to apply Design for Manufacturability principles and transition prototypes into high-volume production.
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D and Fishbone methods, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Set up, validate, and maintain CNC machines, test fixtures, and automated assembly equipment.
• Conduct capability studies, FMEA, Gauge R&R studies, KPI tracking, supplier process evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of manufacturing engineering experience in process design, equipment integration, and analysis within systems or electronics manufacturing.
• Expertise in root cause analysis, statistical tools, process simulation, metrology, and data-driven process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality management systems, production planning, and project management.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced inspection laboratory and manufacturing environment.
