Recycling Operations Manager (Nuclear Energy): Improving the human, organizational, and operational effectiveness of a nuclear fuel recycling division with an accent on cross-functional workflows, procurement, engineering documentation, and compliance. Focus on diagnosing operational friction, designing scalable systems, automating manual processes, and coordinating high-leverage forums for technical teams.

Location: Santa Clara, CA or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there for the first two weeks of onboarding. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export control laws.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

  • Improve the human, organizational, and operational effectiveness of the recycling division.
  • Diagnose friction across processes, tooling, ownership, communication, and cross-team interfaces, then implement practical solutions.
  • Own recycling procurement workflows, including proposal and contract scoping and execution.
  • Manage budgeting, purchasing, planning, hiring, and resource-planning processes for technical teams.
  • Create and maintain engineering work instructions and best practices in partnership with quality assurance.
  • Replace manual workflows with automation or improved tooling and coordinate design reviews, offsites, and all-hands meetings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering operations, product operations, management consulting, technical program management, or a similar role.
  • Experience improving cross-functional workflows, operating models, or organizational systems.
  • Experience working with Director-level and above leadership to diagnose problems, influence decisions, and implement change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, structured problem-solving, organization, and independent execution skills.
  • Ability to work with technical content and engineering organizations without being the technical expert.
  • Must be eligible as a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export control laws.

Nice to have

  • Experience with engineering, hardware, or highly technical teams.
  • Exposure to regulated industries such as energy, nuclear, aerospace, or medical devices.
  • Startup or scaling-organization experience.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, or similar systems.
