Senior Software Engineer (Conversational AI)

Location: Hybrid opportunity based in New Jersey, Atlanta, Chicago, or Dallas

Salary: $73,150–$174,000 base compensation per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy conversational AI applications using LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, and Hugging Face.
• Build, optimize, and maintain RAG pipelines, vector-based retrieval systems, embeddings, and semantic search.
• Develop NLP applications for text parsing, classification, sentiment analysis, summarization, and text generation.
• Evaluate models, engineer prompts, conduct performance testing, and optimize AI outputs.
• Deploy and manage AI workloads on AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, govern, and improve AI systems in production while collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, machine learning, NLP, or a related field.
• 1–2+ years of hands-on experience with LLM APIs and proven experience building and deploying RAG applications.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of NLP, transformer architectures, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and AI application lifecycle management.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, data preprocessing, augmentation, and synthetic data generation.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and collaboration with business stakeholders to define technical requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience deploying applications with MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, model monitoring, observability, security, and AI governance.
• Experience with Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, Qdrant, or Azure AI Search.
