Director/Manager, Energy Strategy & Economics

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. Travel up to 20% may be required.

What you will do

• Develop and own enterprise energy economic and financial models covering utility supply, third-party generation and PPAs, battery energy storage, and hybrid solutions across U.S. markets.
• Translate technical, market, and commercial inputs into lifecycle economics, cash flow models, LCOE comparisons, risk-adjusted costs, and sensitivity analyses.
• Build scenario, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo frameworks to quantify uncertainty and market exposure across supply strategies and contract structures.
• Develop energy, capacity, basis, congestion, and ancillary-services forecasts to support long-term procurement strategy.
• Support RFP evaluations, bid leveling, term sheet analysis, negotiations, pricing guardrails, and contract value assessments.
• Partner with Development, Utility Infrastructure, Operations, Finance, and Legal; present recommendations to senior leadership and support Board-level and investment committee discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in energy economics, power markets, commercial analytics, strategy, procurement, trading, portfolio analytics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience building and owning energy market and project finance models.
• Strong understanding of ISO/RTO and bilateral market structures, utility tariffs, and regulatory and policy drivers affecting long-term supply economics.
• Experience with scenario and sensitivity analysis, lifecycle cash flow modeling, and evaluation of utility, generation, and storage options.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis through investment memos, approval packages, executive summaries, and market outlooks.
• Ability to lead or mentor analysts and coordinate with external consultants.
